JEFF HARMON

With over 17 years of ministry at Bethesda Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Jeff continues to have a passion to ensure “children are anchored in their faith by 12, so that they are not lost at sea by 21.” Seeing the cultural pressures on ‘tweens’ today, Jeff not only remains active teaching this age group in his church and at camps, but also focuses on educating and training both parents and leaders on how to shape and guard the faith of this vulnerable age group. For 4 years he has held a city-wide event where parents and ‘tweens’ are brought together for faith training and inspiration. Jeff travels, speaking at seminars, colleges, churches and conferences across Canada and is part of the Faith Kidz Training Team with David C. Cook.

WEBINAR OPTION 01
UNDERSTANDING THE IPOD GENERATION

From MySpace to Facebook to Weblogs, today’s tweens communicate and have community a lot different than previous generations. This workshop will have a hard look at today’s tween and the cultural influences that they are dealing with and how we need to go into their world with eyes-wide-open. We can never hope to reach them if we only judge them. Rather, by understanding who they are and the world they live in, we can have greater success in reaching them.

WEBINAR OPTION 02
REACHING THE "Y GENERATION"

Today’s Kids Are Getting Older Younger (KAGOY phenomenon) and they want authenticity, truth and experiential living: a far cry from children in yesterday’s Sunday Schools. This workshop will look at ways to reach this post-modern generation of preteens and provide a new way to look at doing children’s ministry. Individuals taking this seminar will talk through changes and ideas that they can do in their church to reach today’s generation of preteens.
